Boston College Eagles

I'm sure that the Boston College Eagles football program gets tired of talking about Doug Flutie's miracle pass in 1984, but that is the most iconic event in their storied history. They have a solid football program that competes well in the ACC, but dominating and standing out as an elite program has not been the norm. Major games against Florida State, Clemson and Virginia Tech tend to keep the program mixed in the shuffle for a bowl matchup, but not always a BCS slot.

The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) has a rich history in athletics AND academics. In my opinion, they are the most well-rounded conference in the country. Analyze their academics versus their football and basketball programs. They're tough to beat.
